CALL FOR PAPERS

RESEARCHING NEW YORK 2003:
PERSPECTIVES ON EMPIRE STATE HISTORY
November 20 & 21, 2003
University at Albany, SUNY

The organizers of the 5th Annual Researching New York Conference invite
proposals for papers, panels, workshops, roundtables, exhibits, and media
presentations on any aspect of New York State history from the colonial
period to the present. We encourage submissions from anyone engaged in the
exploration of New York history; this conference brings together
researchers, archivists, librarians, historians, graduate students, museum
curators, web site creators, and documentarians.

We are pleased to announce that Laurence Hauptman, Distinguished University
Professor, SUNY New Paltz, will deliver the keynote address: "One False
Assumption [About the Iroquois Indians] and Logic Does the Rest."

Full panel proposals, workshops,roundtables, exhibits, and media
presentations are encouraged. Partial panels and individual submissions are
welcome. For panels and full proposals, please submit a one page abstract of
the complete session, a one
page abstract of each paper or presentation, and a one page curriculum vita
for each participant. For individual submissions, please submit a one page
abstract and a one page curriculum vita.
